SOUTH CAROLINA BOWHUNTER'S ASSOCIATION &
SC DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES BOWHUNTER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The International Bowhunter Education Program (IBEP) is a program designed and administered by the National Bowhunters Education Foundation (NBEF) to train bowhunters throughout North America and the countries of the world.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) (Education Division) is the sponsor for the NBEF bowhunting program. The NBEF program is conducted throughout the state by the DNR representative, The South Carolina Bowhunter's Association (SCBA).

The SCBA is a non profit organization working to promote safe and lawful bowhunting education and instruction.   Several times a year throughout South Carolina, SCDNR/SCBA conduct these educational classes.  The instructors are DNR certified NBEF volunteers.

The ultimate goal of the SCDNR/SCBA bowhunters education program is to provide bowhunter's with the fundamentals of good safe bowhunting and appreciation and respect for the environment in which they hunt and a desire to maintain the highest standards of the sport.   The immediate objective is to instill in bowhunters a responsible attitude and to assist them to adopt and follow acceptable behavior towards people, wildlife, and the environment to which they hunt.

To accomplish this goal and objective DNR/SCBA is sponsoring this high quality international bowhunter's course.  This is an excellent course for the seasoned bowhunter as well as the newcomer to the sport of bowhunting.

The bowhunter's education course is free to all persons who wish to participate.   Age requirements, 12 years old and above.  All books and training materials are provided at no cost to the participant.

Upon completion of the course each person will receive an identification card from SCDNR certifying that they have completed the international bowhunter's program (IBEP) for the state of South Carolina. This certification is valid and recognized in most states and other countries.

For further information contact the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Education Office or The South Carolina Bowhunters Association.
