At
the 2008 SCBA Rendezvous, President Dewey Jones officially handed the
leadership of the organization to new President David Shull.
New
President David Shull presents outgoing President
Dewey
Jones a token of appreciation for
his service to the SCBA.
After more than 25 years of service to the SCBA, Dewey plans to remain active
but in “behind the scenes” rolls. During
his 6 years as President, Dewey has guided the organization through challenge
and change and has helped to position the SCBA to continue in our role as
promoters and protectors of bowhunting privileges in
South Carolina.
Dewey will continue to serve as merchandiser for the organization.
Also, his experience will make him an invaluable advisor to the new
leadership.
David Shull and the rest of the leadership corp. assumes office by
acclimation as no office was challenged.
Bruce
Puitt accepted the nomination and election to the office of Treasurer as this
office was vacated upon David Shull taking over as President. David
will be turning over these very important responsibilities in the next few
weeks.
New District
Representatives
In
addition to the new President and Treasurer, the Executive Committee is
pleased to welcome two new District Representatives. David Holliday of
Kingstree graciously accepted the nomination and Election for the long vacant
District 9 position as did Joe Szorosey replaced Mike Varner in the District 6
position. Mike stepped down due to work obligation but plans to continue
to support the SCBA.
